Can Big Blue Keep Up the Winning Streak in 2026?

NFL

The New York Giants had two weeks full of excitement and explosive plays on the field. They now sit at a 3-1 record in the 2026 season. However, on Sunday, October 11th, the Giants are hitting the road again. They have already lost one game away from home, but they may have a chance to turn things around in the next few weeks while they’re away.  They're preparing to take on one of their NFC rivals, the Washington Commanders. New York currently leads their division after their win against the Arizona Cardinals in Week Four.

Given how the team has proven itself in its last two games, it may be able to keep the winning streak alive. So far, New York has had an easy ride while their star quarterback, Jaxson Dart, and edge rusher Brian Burns are out for the season. New York hasn’t had an easy time with quarterback Jameis Winston at the position. This quarterback seems to have both his ups and his downs. Some plays see him shoot the ball out to his receivers, while others see Winston launch pick-sixes into his opponents' hands. The Giants have a lot to work out with him. If he continues to be an issue for New York in getting touchdowns, head coach John Harbaugh may have no choice but to bring in backup quarterback J.J. McCarthy to the Meadowlands.

The defense is what seems to be keeping the win streak alive. Between Jevon Holland and Deonte Banks making interceptions at the end of the game, those have helped New York secure the last two wins. When the offensive line cannot get the job done, the defense seems to shut down opponents' drives. Arvell Reese and Tremaine Edmunds are on the job and ready to put an end to whatever comes their way. Even with Burns out, these two and Abdul Carter have sacked their opening quarterbacks for the last two games.

As New York prepares to face Washington and the rest of its schedule, the Giants might be able to keep up the win streak. If Harbaugh keeps his team focused and keeps them together, New York may have a longer win streak than they planned. It’ll take the whole team to pull it off and get points on the board. They just need to keep finding ways to make the plays work. Big Blue just needs to stay together and not get too excited just yet.
