Seahawks Rookie Fullback Hopes to Shine in 2025 Season

NFL

With the first games of the 2025 season fast approaching, we are down to mere days from weeks and months of training for every team. Many different rookies have been drafted to each team in hopes of bringing in new blood, giving life and energy to their rosters. Things were somewhat bleak for the Seattle Seahawks in previous seasons, especially in 2024, with back-to-back losses for almost 10 games of the whole season. One of those new blood rookies that will be highlighted, hopefully in the upcoming game this weekend, is Robbie Ouzts.

Ouzts has a playing history from Rock Hill, South Carolina, as well as a stint with the Alabama Crimson Tide. However, according to his stats, he seems more like a reserve fullback rather than just being constantly on the leading 12-man playing roster right out the gate. An interesting choice instead of making him a tight end, unless the team has way too many tight ends on the roster. Due to this, it may seem that making him a fullback might be the way to go if he is to shine this weekend for Sunday’s game.

As for what this means for the Seattle Seahawks as a whole, Ouzts’ energy could help bring that spark that the Seahawks have needed, especially after last season. However, even with some players being torn to shreds and a former starter moving teams altogether, it’s never truly been a dull moment in this in-between period for the Seahawks and the NFL in general. Seattle is set to begin the season with a matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, and Fred Warner is leading that pack on the West Coast. Being known as a team that isn’t exactly shy about pushing back Seattle at all, it won’t exactly be the easiest first game of the season, in all honesty.

The main point is that an offense is only as potent as its defense, and with fullbacks like Robbie Ouzts giving it their all out there, as opposed to him hanging back in the shadows of other players, as of this point. The possibility of a glimmer of hope may be in the cards for Seattle. Perhaps even a full season run all the way to the Super Bowl, similar to their single win almost 12 years ago at this point. Overall, fans will have to wait and see from week to week to see what happens, for sure.
