Seattle’s Injury Numbers on the Rise as Week Nine Comes Up

NFL

The injury numbers just keep on climbing and climbing for Seattle. More star players are dropping like flies out there, especially when we only have three more days before Sunday’s game. This can’t be a good thing at all, with more and more replacements having to sub in as the weeks pass. It isn’t playoff time just yet, but the clock is ticking as we get closer and closer to that timeframe as the season goes on. Yet today, I am here to report the latest updates on players who now have listed injuries as of Week Nine of the 2025 season.

First up, we have Sam Darnold himself. He is out with a chest injury at this time. It is unspecified whether or not he will be playing on Sunday or not as well. Despite having full participation at the most recent practice. New to this week’s report are Christian Haynes, Cooper Kupp, Robbie Ouzts, Jarran Reed, Eric Saubert, and finally Dareke Young. They are listed with pectoral, heel, ankle, wrist, calf, and quadricep injuries, respectively, at this time. These six players are also unspecified, just like Darnold, on this new list, despite three of them having full participation and two of them not participating in practice this week.

These members of the team join the listing along with players who have been having injuries for a couple of weeks now, like Julian Love, Derick Hall, and Devon Witherspoon. For now, we can only wait and see how the rest of this week will unfold. Whether or not these injuries are season-ending or can be healed quickly, letting the players get back on the field as soon as possible. Especially in Sam Darnold’s case, as the starting quarterback, he’s one of the biggest stars for the team, allegedly. Even if Jalen Milroe can try and step up in his place. While Jaxon Smith-Njigba is also trying to step up in others’ absences as well, with his striving career. There are so many questions to be asked, all of them leading to the same conclusion: where exactly can we go from here? Seattle will need to keep up its adaptability if it does not want to crumble under its feet and fall behind the rest of the league this season.
