The Eradicator vs. the Genius of the Sky: Who Will Win at Evolution?

WWE

It was announced on the June 30th episode of Monday Night Raw that Iyo Sky will defend her Women’s World Championship against Rhea Ripley at WWE Evolution. This will be the latest chapter in the rivalry between the two stars. Although can fans call this a rivalry, as Ripley has never beaten Sky in one-on-one action. The Eradicator is one of the most popular stars in the WWE today, but the biggest question heading into this match is, can she beat someone who has had her number?

The Genius of the Sky has held the title since she pulled off the shocking win over Ripley on the March 3rd episode of Raw on the Road to WrestleMania. Sky successfully defended her title against Ripley and Bianca Belair in a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania, a match that stole the show. However, since then, the former Women’s Champion reign has grown stale. It was reported that she was supposed to defend her title against Liv Morgan at Night of Champions, but after Morgan suffered a shoulder injury, the WWE had to scrap that plan. Now, it seems that the WWE is pivoting back to Ripley vs Sky with little buildup and just relying on the starpower of both competitors as they head towards Evolution. The two have great chemistry with each other and have shown that they can have the best match of the night on any card. So, expect more of the same or expect them to exceed expectations in Atlanta.

As the Evolution card takes shape, this match will no doubt serve as the main event. For the Eradicator, this is an opportunity to win back the Women’s World Championship and to finally solve the Iyo Sky puzzle. For the Genius of the Sky, this is another opportunity to beat one of the best wrestlers in the women’s division right now. As Sky said on Raw, she wants to face the best, and there is no bigger competitor than “Mami” right now. So, at Evolution, will Ripley finally beat Iyo Sky, or will Sky continue her undefeated streak against the Eradicator? Evolution is only a week away, and fans cannot wait to find out.
