Top Things to Watch at Bills Training Camp 2025

NFL

Buffalo Bills training camp is just around the corner, and the team is heating up for another Super Bowl-caliber season. With fresh rookie talent and returning stars like Josh Allen, all eyes are on the Bills to see what they have in store. The official training camp kicks off Wednesday, July 23rd, at St. John Fisher University in Pittsford. The weeks ahead will be crucial in setting the scene for the rest of their season.

One of the biggest battles to watch at camp is the competition for WR1. On Buffalo’s current depth chart, the role belongs to Khalil Shakir, but newcomer Keon Coleman is close behind. Coleman impressed during minicamp, and if he continues to develop, Shakir’s hold on the top spot may be in jeopardy. While Shakir has remained a consistent and viable option throughout the years, Coleman's newfound strength and versatility, plus his chemistry with Allen, may just give him the edge. Fans and analysts will be closely watching, who will become WR1?

Another player to watch is tight end Dalton Kincaid. Kincaid had a less-than-impressive season in 2024, even dropping a crucial catch in the AFC championship game. However, Kincaid's performance has been drastically improving. At minicamp, he made many impressive catches. As TE1, we can expect Kincaid to appear in practically every game this season and take many snaps. Many analysts say Kincaid is also due for this breakout season

With new rookies also comes new talent to watch. Buffalo heavily focused on redefining their defense this year, signing defensive end Landon Jackson, cornerback Maxwell Hairston, and defensive tackles T.J. Sanders and Deone Walker. All four will be trying to prove themselves at the professional level, and will give training camp their ultimate best shot. Jackson, weighing in at over 250 pounds, will make a massive difference in the defensive wall. Hairston was the team's first-round pick, with 89 total tackles in his college career at the University of Kentucky. Sanders and Walker also make valuable additions due to their size and athleticism, both over 6’3. All of these new players will be important to analyze at training camp this year.
