Was ‘The Don of NXT’ the Masked Man at Survivor Series: WarGames?

WWE

At Survivor Series: WarGames in San Diego on November 29th, someone wearing a black mask entered the men’s WarGames cage. This masked individual helped ‘The Vision’ get a huge win over four past and current World Champions. Since then, there have been many predictions on who this person could be. The likes of Austin Theory, Becky Lynch, and others have been in the conversation. Yet there’s one individual who could be the culprit who hasn’t been discussed: former NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo. ‘The Don of NXT’ made his return to NXT at Deadline, when he brutally attacked Je’Von Evans, who was having a stare down with the new and now two-time NXT Champion Oba Femi. After D’Angelo beat down Evans, he threw a bunch of ripped-up black fabric at ‘The Young OG’. Could D’Angelo be the masked accomplice from WarGames?

We have not seen D’Angelo since the summer when the storyline of the dismantling of 'The D’Angelo Family’ was happening. Adriana Rizzo has been recovering from tearing her ACL and meniscus. Luca Crusifino has not appeared on NXT since leaving ‘The D’Angelo Family’. Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo has appeared in various storylines across NXT and TNA since turning his back on Tony before Stand & Deliver. Most recently, he’s been involved with invading TNA and being ringside for his fiancée, Arianna Grace. ‘The Don of NXT’ has taken the past few months off, and it seems like he’s different in the sense that his attitude and appearance have changed. Since disappearing from NXT programming, several rumors have circulated that D’Angelo would join the main roster along with other ready NXT talent. There was also talk of perhaps a shift in his character, which seems like what’s going on now.

So, what does this mean if Tony D’Angelo was the masked man at Survivor Series: WarGames? Does this mean D’Angelo is the newest member of ‘The Vision’? With him returning to NXT, does this mean we’ll also see ‘The Vision’ in NXT? With the way the story is heading, D’Angelo’s next opponent is Je’Von Evans without a doubt, yet will he be added to the NXT Championship match at NXT New Year’s Evil? Will Evans have to get past D’Angelo in order to keep the number-one contendership he won at NXT Deadline? D’Angelo is the man who ended Oba Femi’s incredible reign as North American Champion. Could he end ‘The Ruler’s’ second run as NXT Champion? There are a lot of questions as we head into the December 8th episode of Monday Night Raw and the December 9th episode of NXT. It will certainly be interesting if D’Angelo turns out to be the masked figure from weeks ago.
