Which Seahawks Players Need to Step Up in Week Six?
As the weeks have come and gone this season, many things have happened for a lot of teams. Some of them have been off to great starts so far in these six weeks, and some of them have been really rough around the edges. Much like Seattle, taking a look at how things have happened to them, with some players being out with injury, left and right. This now puts Coach MacDonald in a position to basically reshape most of what the team’s strategy would be for the weeks to come. That doesn’t mean that there cannot be any glimmer of hope left, as long as players are willing to get out there and make a difference.
One of those players is Jaxon Smith-Njiba. He has had a decent career so far with Seattle. Even though most of it hasn’t exploded into something really stellar, not in a bad way, though, at all. Njigba still has a lot of room for improvement out there on the field, in all honesty. He needs to be able to build that energy and chemistry that he has with the other players for his play style to really shine out there. This works best when he’s paired up with players like Sam Darnold to be an even more effective threat during games.
Sam Darnold himself has some great potential, both already on the field so far. He was also trying to find what he could do to keep that energy up as much as possible. Though his play hasn’t been the best as of late, often costing him moments that could have snagged either a couple of extra points as the quarterback or even closer to winning the game overall. He needs to show some consistency in avoiding as many ball turnovers as possible as well. On top of that, being able to execute offensive plays can help benefit the team as a whole.
With how the Seahawks have a 3-2 season record so far. The room for error is shrinking more and more now than ever before. Seattle needs to have its key players like Darnold and Njigba out there playing at their best as much as possible. Though the bigger question now is, with the clock ticking further and further, can they step up to their A game and take it on home?
