Who Are the Four Cowboys That Need to Step Up in Sunday’s Divisional Game?

NFL

As the Cowboys enter Week Seven, they have a lot to prove. This will be their third divisional game as they hope to go 2-1. Not only is this a big divisional rivalry game, but with a tough schedule looming, if they want to make the playoffs and turn their season around, they must find a way to beat the Commanders.  They will need some players to step up and perform this week. Here are four players who will need to leave their mark to get a win this week.

DE Dante Fowler Jr.

Dante Fowler Jr. is a veteran defensive end who played for Washington last season. The Cowboys brought him back this season as a pass-rushing specialist.  Dealing with Jayden Daniels is a big ask, but Fowler will need to show why he is still in the league and make his presence felt. One of the biggest things Daniels is known for is his dual-threat ability and getting out of the pocket using his legs. Fowler Jr. will need to collapse the pocket and make it hard for Daniels to focus.

QB Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott has been on fire this season, despite having a losing record. Prescott will once again have to put his team on his back and find his receivers down the field. With hopes of CeeDee Lamb back this week, he will get another elite receiver to catch the ball. Prescott will have to play with control, take care of the ball, push the tempo, and get a win at home.

LB Kenneth Murray Jr

Jayden Daniels is one of the best mobile QBs in the NFL. Kenneth Murray Jr. is one of the Cowboys' best athletes on the team. Typically, the Dallas Cowboys use Murray Jr. as a spy on quarterbacks. Daniels presents a lot of challenges with his speed and elusiveness; however, if Murray is disciplined, he should do a good job on Daniels. If Murray Jr. can limit Daniels on the ground and force him to beat them with his arm, I like Dallas’s chances. Look for Murray Jr to make a huge impact on this game.

WR George Pickens

George Pickens has been on fire this season. He has six touchdowns, which is tied for first place among all the receivers in the NFL. Despite CeeDee Lamb possibly returning this week, Pickens and Prescott’s connection has been great, and they look to continue their recent success. Additionally, they are going to need all hands on deck if they want to beat a talented Commanders team led by Daniels.

The Cowboys are looking to bounce back after a heartbreaking loss to the Panthers. If they can get a win, this will not only give them a winning record in divisional play but also give them the confidence that they can as they try to make a playoff push later in the season. They will need players to play with a sense of urgency, and, in addition, these four guys need to have big afternoons. If this happens, look for Dallas to get a big win at home.
