Will ‘Main Event Jey’ Be the 2026 King of the Ring?

WWE

Since the announcement of both the King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments, everyone has wanted to know who will become King of the Ring at Night of Champions. After the June 19th edition of Friday Night SmackDown, it was revealed that ‘The Ruler’ Oba Femi will face ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso in the King of the Ring Finals. Multiple things could happen during this match. Brock Lesnar could appear before, during, or after this match. If ‘The Beast Incarnate’ interferes before or during the match, the advantage goes to ‘Main Event Jey’, who will also have The Bloodline alongside him. However, if Lesnar doesn’t come out till after the match, Femi will most likely be the King of the Ring, allowing him to main event both nights of SummerSlam. The WWE Universe is in favor of ‘The Ruler’, but what if Uso wins?

‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns plan for ‘Main Event Jey’ when entering the 2026 King of the Ring Tournament was for him to challenge the WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam. Now, with the WWE Championship on the line at Night of Champions in a Triple Threat, including ‘The Ring General’ Gunther and ‘The Last Real Good Guy’ Sami Zayn, anything could happen. We could see two friends, and former Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, face off with Rhodes and Uso, or a battle between friends with Zayn and Uso, or a rematch of the World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania 41 between Gunther and ‘Main Event Jey’. Any three of these potential matches would certainly be intriguing heading into SummerSlam.

While many want to see Femi win the tournament, having Uso win allows ‘The Ruler’ to properly retire Lesnar in his hometown of Minneapolis. The potential loss at King of the Ring could eventually shape a World Heavyweight Championship match between Femi and Reigns, where ‘The Ruler’ could dethrone ‘The OTC’ to become World Champion before the end of 2026. While a win or loss at SummerSlam for ‘Main Event Jey’ could push The Bloodline story further along. WWE has the big question of allowing Uso to win so Femi can properly retire Lesnar, or continue to push ‘The Ruler’, making him the first to main event both nights of SummerSlam.
